**Illinois Scholars Program - Summer 2019**

**I ran this one-month program for incoming freshmen together with Nigel Pynn-Coates and Heejoung Kim, under the supervision of Alison Reddy.**

**The students in the program were Illinois residents recruited based on academic factors, as well as meeting any of the following criteria:**

**Qualifying for the Educational Opportunities Program (EOP) - typically students who are first generation college students or are members of groups that are disadvantaged either socially or economically.****Identifying as an individual from a racial (African American, Native American) or ethnic (Hispanic) group underrepresented at Illinois.****Earning a diploma from a high school from which very few graduates enroll at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.**

**During the four weeks of the program, we ran daily math activities. Alongside a review of high school algebra and precalculus, we introduced the students to several problem solving techniques, and presented some applications of math to real-world situations. Below are the worksheets I contributed to the class.**
